Pamela Bliss is the artist.
Her daughter Carly Mattingly Bailey

Pamela Bliss and Vincent Vecera did the hard work to make the mural possible.

We have raised the funds to paint a 25 foot tall Hoagy Carmichael portrait
on the back of the Readmore Building,
with permission of the owners: Empire Title.

This portrait will greet every vistor entering Richmond from the south
as it overlooks Highway 27, and remind everyone of Richmond's
Starr-Gennett heritage.

It also overlooks the crossroads of the National Road and the Underground Railway.

Scheduled for completion by July 1, Randy Carmichael has agreed to appear
and sing at the 'unveiling' on Saturday July 5th
in Richmond, Indiana.

The total cost to create this mural is $21,647

As of June 29, we have reached our goal!

All funds received at this point will be used to create a mural of
Duke Ellington on the Sanders Jewelry Building in Summer of 2009

To everyone who participated and helped bring Hoagy back to Richmond

Thank You!
